My father Nikolai Kirillov was born in Tver region of Russia in 1930. He studied art and design at the Vera Mukhina Higher School of Art and Design in Leningrad (now the Saint Petersburg State Art and Industry Academy, named after Alexander von Stieglitz). He is a student of Piotr Buchkin and Ivan Stepashkin. His paintings belong to a collection of the Belarusian National Art Museum in Minsk. In 1966-1967 he was the chief designer and the author of the art concept of the main exposition of the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War in Minsk. In the 1970s he was the chief designer of exhibitions at the National Exhibition Centre “BelExpo”. As an artist and graphic designer he was working for the 1980 Summer Olympics.
